RSVP 10/5: EMILYs List Hosts Run To Win 101 Candidate Training in Milwaukee, Wisconsin
WASHINGTON, D.C. – EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, will host a Run To Win 101 Training in Milwaukee, WI on Saturday, October 5. This training will be open to press for a limited amount of time, 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
After historic wins up and down the ballot in 2018, EMILYs List remains inspired by the thousands of pro-choice Democratic women who have signed up to run for office. These trainings provide an opportunity to build on the success of the previous election cycle.
“Training more of pro-choice Democratic women, especially in states like Wisconsin, ensures that there is a pipeline of future legislators who will put women and families first,” said Stefanie Brown James, vice president of training and community engagement at EMILYs List.
EMILYs List's Run to Win training program was launched in response to the tens of thousands of pro-choice Democratic women who reached out to express interest in running for public office after the 2016 election. Since then, the group has heard from over 48,000 women.
The Run to Win 101 training program provides the basic and necessary tools — from learning the right office to run for, to telling their personal stories, to how to build a team— for first-time candidates to run effective campaigns and win.

EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, has raised over $600 million to elect pro-choice Democratic women candidates. With a grassroots community of over five million members, EMILY's List helps Democratic women win competitive campaigns – across the country and up and down the ballot – by recruiting and training candidates, supporting strong campaigns, researching the issues that impact women and families, and turning out women voters to the polls. Since our founding in 1985, we have helped elect 150 women to the House, 26 to the Senate, 16 governors, and nearly 1,100 women to state and local office. Nearly 40 percent of the candidates EMILYs List has helped elect to Congress have been women of color. During the historic 2017-2018 cycle, EMILYs List raised a record-breaking $110 million and launched a record independent expenditure campaign. We helped elect 34 new women to the House, including 24 red-to-blue victories; enough seats to have delivered the U.S. House majority alone. Since the 2016 election, more than 46,000 women have reached out to EMILY's List about running for office laying the groundwork for the next decade of candidates for local, state and national offices.
