EMILYs List: GOP Priorities Couldn’t Be More Tragically and Disgustingly Out-of-Touch

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILY's List President Stephanie Schriock released the following statement after Republicans in Congress abdicated their responsibility to address gun violence and instead unanimously supported the “Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act,” also known as a 20-week abortion ban.
 
“As our country continues to reel following the unspeakable violence that occurred this week in Las Vegas, Republican lawmakers proved just how tragically and disgustingly out-of-touch they are. The allegedly 'pro-life' GOP is attacking women's autonomy over their own health and economic decisions. 

“A majority of families across this country that whether and when to have a child is a decision that should be left up to women, their families, and their doctors. This GOP-led Congress is relentlessly pushing an ideological agenda – plain and simple. At EMILY's List, we will work every day to support pro-choice women candidates who seek to replace these legislators in November 2018.”
