EMILYs List Endorses Seven Women Leaders in New Hampshire

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, endorsed seven women leaders for New Hampshire state Senate and Executive Council. Stephanie Schriock, president of EMILYs List, released the following statement:

“At a time when the fate of abortion and reproductive rights hangs in the balance at the Supreme Court, it's more important than ever to ensure state governments uphold women's rights. Republicans in New Hampshire can’t be trusted to protect access to safe, legal abortion. With pro-choice Democratic women in striking distance of flipping the state Senate, voters have the chance to ensure the rights of Granite State women and families are protected. On the Executive Council, Debora Pignatelli will fight to ensure that Planned Parenthood funding remains intact and not constantly at risk because of the ideology of anti-choice Republicans. EMILYs List is proud to be standing with these seven champions for New Hampshire.”

EMILYs List endorsed the following slate of candidates:

Debora Pignatelli (Executive Council, District 5)
Jenn Alford-Teaster (SD-08)
Shannon Chandley (SD-11)
Anne Grassie (SD-06)
Melanie Levesque (SD-12)
Cindy Rosenwald (SD-13)
Donna Soucy (SD-18)

EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, has raised over $500 million to support pro-choice Democratic women candidates – making them one of the most successful political organizations ever. Our grassroots community of over five million members helps Democratic women wage competitive campaigns – and win. We recruit and train candidates, support strong campaigns, research the issues that impact women and families, and turn out women voters. Since our founding in 1985, we have helped elect 116 women to the House, 23 to the Senate, 12 governors, and over 800 to state and local office. Forty percent of the candidates EMILYs List has helped elect to Congress have been women of color. Since the 2016 election, thousands of women and counting have reached out to us about running for office. To harness this energy, EMILYs List has launched Run to Win, an unprecedented effort to get more women to run at the local, state, and national levels.
