March 24, 2026

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, endorsed Katy Padilla Stout for Texas’ 23rd Congressional District. EMILYs List President Jessica Mackler released the following statement:

“Republican chaos and scandal has put Texas’ 23rd Congressional District in play, and Katy Padilla Stout can flip this seat. As a public school teacher, child welfare attorney, and mother of four, Katy has seen firsthand the struggles her community faces and has spent her career providing real solutions to help Texas families. Katy is exactly the kind of bold leader we need in Congress who will fight to make life more affordable for working families and for the future of our children. EMILYs List is proud to support her in this race, and together work to take back the U.S. House majority.”

Katy Padilla Stout is a lifelong Texan, wife, mother, attorney, and former public school teacher now running for Congress to flip Texas’ 23rd Congressional District. After teaching in Northside ISD, she became a child welfare and education attorney, fighting for children in some of the most difficult circumstances. Since 2017, she has served on the Bexar County Child Welfare Board and on the board of Artvango Therapeutic Services, working to support vulnerable children and families and break cycles of abuse and poverty. Now, Katy is running for Congress to bring that same commitment to service to Washington – fighting to lower costs for working families, strengthen public education, and ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive.
