FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, endorsed Janelle Stelson for election to Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional District. EMILYs List President Jessica Mackler released the following statement:
“As Trump and his Republican allies attack our rights and livelihoods, we need leaders like Janelle Stelson who know how to cut through the noise and speak truth to power. As a trusted journalist, Janelle spent decades holding the powerful accountable and standing up for Pennsylvanians. Now she’s ready to take that same commitment to Washington, where she’ll fight for working families, defend our freedoms, and take on extremists like Scott Perry. EMILYs List is proud to endorse Janelle Stelson in this critical race to flip PA-10.”
Janelle Stelson is an Emmy Award-winning broadcast journalist with a nearly 40-year track record of listening to Pennsylvanians and fighting to deliver them the truth. Prior to running for Congress, Stelson spent 26 years as an anchor of the highest-rated news show in the Harrisburg media market, which encompasses all of Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional District. Her work as a journalist has taken her all over central Pennsylvania, covering the issues that matter most to people and giving her up close and personal knowledge of the challenges — and opportunities — they face. Senior News has repeatedly named Stelson “Best News Anchor” in honor of her outstanding work. After working at WHTM-TV in Harrisburg, Stelson joined Susquehanna Valley’s WGAL in 1997 and has been involved in the betterment of central Pennsylvanians ever since.
