EMILYs List Endorses Four More Women Leaders for the Pennsylvania General Assembly and Statewide Office

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, endorsed four more women leaders for the Pennsylvania General Assembly and statewide office. Stephanie Schriock, president of EMILYs List, released the following statement:

“EMILYs List is thrilled to expand our endorsements in Pennsylvania with these pro-choice champions. As veterans, lawyers, teachers, and small business owners, they represent Pennsylvanians’ tenacity and spirit for public service. While Republicans have proven time and time again that they will not advocate for women and working families, and even put their own members at risk during a public health crisis, these women have proven they have what it takes to get the job done. Once elected, we are confident that they will hold state government officials accountable, flip both chambers of the General Assembly, and advocate for a fair and transparent redistricting process in 2021. These women are trailblazers and phenomenal community leaders, and EMILYs List is confident they will be the tireless advocates Pennsylvanians deserve in Harrisburg.”

EMILYs List endorsed the following women:
Deb Ciamacca (HD-168)
Claudette Williams (HD-176)
Ann Marie Mitchell (HD-178)
Nina Ahmad (Auditor General)

These endorsements are in addition to 25 previously endorsed EMILYs List candidates in Pennsylvania: Judy Schwank (SD-11), Amanda Cappelletti (SD-17), Carolyn Comitta (SD-19), Pam Iovino (SD-37), Julie Slomski (SD-49), Sara Innamorato (HD-21), Marlene Katz (HD-29), Lissa Geiger Shulman (HD-30), Summer Lee (HD-34), Jessica Benham (HD-36), Michele Knoll (HD-44), Liz Hanbidge (HD-61), Patty Kim (HD-103), Brittney Rodas (HD-105), Lindsay Drew (HD-106), Joanna Bryn Smith (HD-120), Wendy Ullman (HD-143), Nancy Guenst (HD-152), Danielle Friel Otten (HD-155), Melissa Shusterman (HD-157), Christina Sappey (HD-158), Leanne Krueger (HD-161), Jennifer O'Mara (HD-165), Kristine Howard (HD-167), Mary Isaacson (HD-175), and Elizabeth Fiedler (HD-184).

EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, has raised over $600 million to elect pro-choice Democratic women candidates. With a grassroots community of over five million members, EMILY's List helps Democratic women win competitive campaigns – across the country and up and down the ballot – by recruiting and training candidates, supporting strong campaigns, researching the issues that impact women and families, and turning out women voters to the polls. Since our founding in 1985, we have helped elect 150 women to the House, 26 to the Senate, 16 governors, and nearly 1,100 women to state and local office. Nearly 40 percent of the candidates EMILYs List has helped elect to Congress have been women of color. During the historic 2017-2018 cycle, EMILYs List raised a record-breaking $110 million and launched a record independent expenditure campaign. We helped elect 34 new women to the House, including 24 red-to-blue victories; enough seats to have delivered the U.S. House majority alone. Since the 2016 election, more than 55,000 women have reached out to EMILY's List about running for office laying the groundwork for the next decade of candidates for local, state, and national offices.
