EMILYs List Endorses Dr. Jasmeet Bains for California’s 22nd Congressional District

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, endorsed Dr. Jasmeet Bains for California’s 22nd Congressional District. EMILYs List President Jessica Mackler released the following statement:

“Dr. Jasmeet Bains has been on the frontlines her entire career, taking on the tough fights to expand access to health care and address the challenges facing her community.  She has fought tirelessly to combat drug trafficking and led efforts to cut taxes for Central Valley’s veterans and working families. A family doctor, a community leader, and a state legislator who has championed the needs of the Central Valley, Dr. Bains is exactly the representative we need right now to stand up to Washington politicians like Rep. David Valadao, who is gutting health care access. EMILYs List is proud to endorse Dr. Bains for California’s 22nd Congressional District. This is part of EMILYs List first round of endorsements in key California Congressional races. After the passage of Prop. 50 in California, the 22nd Congressional District shifted from “Lean Republican” to “Toss-Up,” making it essential to flipping the U.S. House of Representatives. 

Dr. Jasmeet Bains currently represents District 35 in the California state Assembly. She knows firsthand the challenges her community faces because she’s lived them and she’s been solving them her entire career. She’s a family doctor who has dedicated her life to caring for working families, confronting health inequities, and showing up when it matters most. With her record of service, her deep roots in the Central Valley, and her proven ability to deliver results, she is best positioned to flip California’s 22nd Congressional District. She has secured over $20 million to fight fentanyl addiction and drug trafficking, led the effort to build a UC medical school in Kern County, cut taxes for working moms and veterans, and opposed new gas taxes and higher energy prices.
