EMILYs List Endorses Chief Justice Megan Cavanagh for Michigan Supreme Court

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, endorsed Chief Justice Megan Cavanagh for reelection to the Michigan Supreme Court. EMILYs List President Jessica Mackler released the following statement:

Chief Justice Megan Cavanagh joined the Michigan Supreme Court in January of 2019. In 2025, her dedication to ensuring the rights and freedoms of Michiganders earned her unanimous election by her colleagues to serve as chief justice of the Michigan Supreme Court. Prior to her time on the bench, she had over fifteen years of experience as one of Michigan’s top appellate attorneys, was a shareholder at Garan Lucow Miller P.C. in Detroit and served as chair of the Appellate Practice Section of the State Bar of Michigan. She was rated as one of Michigan’s Super Lawyers and honored by Michigan Lawyers Weekly as Lawyer of the Year in 2006 and a Woman in the Law in 2017.
