EMILYs List Endorses Alisa Simmons for Tarrant County Judge
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, endorsed Alisa Simmons for Tarrant County judge. EMILYs List President Jessica Mackler released the following statement:
“Alisa Simmons is a bold leader who has consistently stood up for the rights and needs of people in her community. On the Tarrant County Commissioners Court, she has never backed down from a challenge and has tackled injustice head-on. EMILYs List is proud to support her in this critical race and we know she has what it takes to defeat MAGA extremist Tarrant County Judge Tim O’Hare.”
Commissioner Alisa Simmons is a fearless advocate fighting every day for Southeast Tarrant County. A longtime president of the Arlington NAACP, she built her reputation holding systems accountable — from police violence to voter suppression — long before stepping into office. Elected in 2022 as the third Black woman on the Tarrant County Commissioners Court, Simmons quickly became known for standing her ground on equity, democracy, and dignity, even when it meant confronting power head-on. Now, she’s running for Tarrant County judge to bring transparent, people-centered leadership to a county government too often defined by exclusion and disregard for the communities it serves. In her court, she vows that silence will never be an option.
