EMILYs List Congratulates Mayor Emily Larson on Advancing to the General Election for Duluth Mayor

WASHINGTON, D.C. –  Today, EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, congratulated Mayor Emily Larson on advancing to the general election for a second term as Duluth Mayor. Mayor Larson finished first in the non-partisan primary, putting her in a commanding position to win re-election. Stephanie Schriock, president of EMILYs List, released the following statement:

Mayor Larson has an impressive career serving the people of Duluth as President of the Duluth City Council, a commissioner on the Duluth Economic Development Authority, and now as mayor. Throughout her time as Duluth’s chief executive, she has prioritized reducing greenhouse gas emissions, creating safer and more affordable housing throughout Duluth, addressing the opioid epidemic, and securing funding to improve the city's infrastructure and rebuild roads. First elected in 2015, Mayor Larson is the first woman to serve as mayor of Duluth. She lives in the city with her husband Doug and their two sons.
