WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, congratulates Judge Susan Crawford on her election to the Wisconsin state Supreme Court. EMILYs List President Jessica Mackler released the following statement:

“EMILYs List is proud to congratulate Judge Susan Crawford on her election to the Wisconsin state Supreme Court. Despite Musk’s attempts to use his wealth to upend this election, today Wisconsinites elected a candidate who will uphold the state Supreme Court’s progressive majority, ensuring the protection of their rights, freedoms, and elections for years to come. We are excited to see Judge Crawford serve with fairness and integrity, safeguarding the fundamental freedoms of millions.”

Judge Susan Crawford has served as a Dane County Circuit Court judge since 2018. Judge Crawford’s career began as an assistant attorney general with the Wisconsin Department of Justice, where she prosecuted hundreds of tough cases, holding criminals accountable and enforcing our laws. She worked in several leadership positions at multiple state agencies and was named chief legal counsel to the governor. Following her tenure in state government, Judge Crawford became a private practice attorney, where she protected voting and workers’ rights, and represented Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin to defend access to reproductive health care.

###EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, works to elect Democratic pro-choice women up and down the ballot and across the country with a goal of fighting for our rights and our communities. Over nearly 40 years, EMILYs List has raised nearly $950 million to help Democratic women win competitive elections by recruiting and training candidates, supporting and helping build strong campaigns, researching the issues that impact women and families, running one of the most impactful independent expenditure operations for Democrats, and turning out women voters to the polls. Since our founding in 1985, we have helped elect the country’s first woman as vice president, 192 women to the House, 29 to the Senate, 20 governors, and over 1,600 women to state and local office. More than 40% of the candidates EMILYs List has helped elect to Congress have been women of color. Visit www.emilyslist.org for more information.
