WASHINGTON, D.C. – EMILYs List President Laphonza Butler released the following statement celebrating National Coming Out Day: 
 
“EMILYs List is proud to celebrate National Coming Out Day. We honor the EMILYs List-endorsed LGBTQ+ candidates that live their truth out loud. Their bravery in choosing to serve their communities while subjecting themselves to increased scrutiny and discrimination due to their identify should be commended. We must also continue to do the work to create an environment where all people feel comfortable and safe to be themselves. By electing more Democratic pro-choice women to office, we will continue the push towards a more equitable, welcoming future.”
