EMILYs List Candidates Announce Impressive Q2 Fundraising Amounts
The dog days of summer are upon us, and while the weather may slow some people down, EMILYs List candidates’ fundraising in the second quarter was on fire! As of yesterday (7/16), at least 25 candidates we endorsed raised over half a million dollars in Q2, and around 20 have outraised their opponent for the quarter.
Nine EMILYs List candidates for U.S. House – all of whom are running to flip seats from red to blue – announced that they raised $1,000,000 this past quarter. So far, we know at least six of these hardworking women have outraised the Republican incumbents whom they are challenging.

Another 19 House candidates endorsed by EMILYs List raised over $500,000 in Q2. Cindy Axne (IA-03), Kathy Manning (NC-13), Abigail Spanberger (VA-07) and Susan Wild (PA-07) all announced that their numbers broke single-quarter records for Democrats in their races. Abby Finkenauer (IA-01), Chrissy Houlahan (PA-06) and Elaine Luria (VA-02) reported that over 95% of their donations were less than $100. Our candidates for U.S. Senate have also announced strong fundraising quarters. For the fourth quarter in a row, Jacky Rosen outraised Dean Heller, bringing in over $3.5 million last quarter. Senators Tammy Baldwin and Claire McCaskill raised over $4 million, while Kyrsten Sinema brought in over $3.25 million.
While FEC reports for the second quarter are still being processed, it’s clear that EMILYs List candidates had impressive fundraising hauls. As the remaining primaries approach and we head into the fall, EMILYs List will continue to support, promote and work closely with our candidates in races throughout the country.
