EMILY's List and BlackPAC Announce $1.5 Million Joint Fundraising Agreement
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, EMILY's List and BlackPAC are proud to announce a $1.5 million joint fundraising agreement, formalizing the work EMILY's List and BlackPAC have done together in past cycles. By creating a joint committee for our independent expenditures, the two organizations can raise critical funds together to support Black women candidates and comprehensive voter outreach plans that are critical to victory.
“Black women are the heart and soul of the Democratic Party, and EMILY's List is thrilled to partner with BlackPAC to send more amazing Black women to Congress and help ensure that districts with significant Black populations reelect their congresswomen,” said EMILY's List President Stephanie Schriock. “We could not have a better partner in this work than Adrianne Shropshire and BlackPAC, the largest organization in the country dedicated to working with Black voters to deliver electoral wins. As we saw in 2018 with the election of the most diverse Congress in history, and as we are poised to see again in November, there is no limit to what women can accomplish when we come together and fight for one another.
Looking forward, we know that it isn’t enough to win the White House. We know that a Biden-Harris administration can’t get a progressive agenda passed without the House and the Senate. At a time when voting rights, reproductive rights, and civil rights face unprecedented attacks, we are proud to join forces with Adrianne and BlackPAC to help build this country back better.”
“When we support and elect women, overlooked issues become mainstream and the impossible suddenly becomes possible,” said Adrianne Shropshire, Executive Director of BlackPAC. “BlackPAC is proud to continue our partnership with EMILYs List to elect more women to congress who will restore moral leadership and elevate the issues most important to Black families, from the Black maternal health crisis, to the gender and racial wage gap, to upending structural racism with legislation at every level of our government.
EMILYs List and BlackPAC have already made investments in the following districts with more to come:
- Women Vote, EMILY's List's independent expenditure arm, and BlackPAC have announced a $105,000 four-piece mail program in Georgia’s 6th Congressional District targeting Black voters, Latinas, AAPI, and white women voters.

- BlackPAC and Women Vote have announced a seven week Black radio program in Virginia’s 2nd Congressional District.

EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, has raised over $600 million to elect pro-choice Democratic women candidates. With a grassroots community of over five million members, EMILY's List helps Democratic women win competitive campaigns – across the country and up and down the ballot – by recruiting and training candidates, supporting strong campaigns, researching the issues that impact women and families, and turning out women voters to the polls. Since our founding in 1985, we have helped elect 150 women to the House, 26 to the Senate, 16 governors, and nearly 1,100 women to state and local office. Nearly 40 percent of the candidates EMILYs List has helped elect to Congress have been women of color. During the historic 2017-2018 cycle, EMILYs List raised a record-breaking $110 million and launched a record independent expenditure campaign. We helped elect 34 new women to the House, including 24 red-to-blue victories; enough seats to have delivered the U.S. House majority alone. Since the 2016 election, more than 55,000 women have reached out to EMILY's List about running for office laying the groundwork for the next decade of candidates for local, state, and national offices.
BlackPAC is an independent, Black-led organization that uses the power of year-round political engagement and elections to change our economic, justice, and political systems. Since its founding in 2016, BlackPAC has helped galvanize Black voters to the polls to elect Governors, Lt. Governors, Attorneys General, US Senators, and State Legislators. We are committed to long-term, sustained engagement with Black voters by building lasting political infrastructure. We’re holding our public officials accountable to a policy agenda that defends our rights, promotes dignity, and ends white supremacy.
