EMILYs List Poll: Maggie Goodlander Poised to Win Democratic Primary in New Hampshire’s 2nd Congressional District
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, released an internal poll of the Democratic primary election for New Hampshire’s 2nd Congressional District.
The polling shows that Goodlander leads Van Ostren by 16 points and has the same level of name recognition despite this being Goodlander’s first run for office.
“Maggie Goodlander has put together a stellar campaign and this poll reflects her strength heading into the primary. Maggie has what it takes to protect reproductive rights in Congress and fight for Granite Staters,” said EMILYs List Director of Campaign Communications, Yari Aquino.
The GQR survey results note that:
- Goodlander leads Van Ostern by 16 points, 43% to 27% with 30% undecided. After hearing more about their biographies, Goodlander’s expanded the margin to 54% to 35%.
- Despite never having run before, Goodlander has virtually the same level of name recognition (61% name ID) as Van Ostern (65% name ID) and strong net favorable ratings (Goodlander +35, Van Ostern +31)
- Goodlander is especially strong with older voters, leading among voters over 50 years old 49% to 27%.
