“This Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month, EMILYs List honors the exceptional AANHPI women who have made historic strides in political leadership. From trailblazers like Vice President Kamala Harris, the first South Asian woman vice president, to Sen. Mazie Hirono, the first Asian American woman in the U.S. Senate, and Mai Xiong (MI-HD13), who recently made history as the first Hmong American to be elected to the Michigan state Legislature, their contributions and diverse perspectives are vital in shaping a more inclusive future.
