EMILYs List Endorses Mai Xiong for Michigan House District 13

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, endorsed Mai Xiong for the special election in Michigan House District 13. EMILYs List Interim President Jessica Mackler released the following statement:

She will ensure that residents of Michigan’s 13th House District will always have a representative who will stand up to the state’s extremist Republicans and fight for their rights. Mai Xiong currently serves on the Board of Commissioners for Macomb County, Michigan and is running in the special election to represent Michigan’s 13th House District, which was vacated by EMILYs List-endorsed Lori Stone after she was elected as mayor of Warren, Michigan. On the Board of Commissioners, Xiong has focused on improving care for seniors, expanding public transportation, and championing the needs of the county’s working families. Xiong is running to continue the district’s strong tradition of Democratic pro-choice leadership and protect fundamental freedoms for southeast Michigan and the entire state.
