EMILYs List Statement on Kirk Watson’s Discredited Attacks in Austin Mayoral Race

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, responded to Kirk Watson’s continued use of discredited attacks on endorsed candidate for Austin mayor Celia Israel. EMILYs List President Laphonza Butler released the following statement:

“Celia Israel has always put the people of Austin first, fighting to ensure that the people too often silenced and marginalized by those in the halls of power are heard. Kirk Watson is clinging to these desperate falsehoods and innuendo in an attempt to mislead voters. Israel is fighting to advance justice, equity, and opportunity for every Austinite, and EMILYs List is proud to stand by her in this critical election.”
