EMILY’S LIST CELEBRATES LABOR DAY

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, recognized Labor Day. EMILYs List President Laphonza Butler, released the following statement:  
 
“Today, we celebrate Labor Day- an important acknowledgement of the contribution the labor movement has made to our country’s continued effort towards true equity. EMILYs List is proud to celebrate the hardworking people who make contributions that often go unrecognized, while continuing to be pillars in their communities.
 
“We are honored to continue to support the campaigns of Democratic pro-choice women who are proud of their labor backgrounds. Candidates like Dr. Yadira Caraveo, running for the U.S. House of Representatives in Colorado, a proud former SEIU representative. Or Nikki Budzinski, the granddaughter of a union painter. And Rep. Jahana Hayes, a member of the Connecticut Education Association.
