EMILYs List Endorses Muriel Hall for New Hampshire House of Representatives
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, endorsed Muriel Hall in the special election for the New Hampshire House of Representatives Merrimack District 23. Emily Cain, executive director of EMILYs List, released the following statement:
“Muriel Hall has spent the entirety of her 40-year career serving the needs of students and families in New Hampshire. As an educator, Muriel knows the best ways to improve the New Hampshire public school system. And as a long-time labor advocate, Muriel will always protect workers’ rights. We are confident that as part of the New Hampshire House, Muriel will continue to be a champion for women and families by fighting for community safety, public education, environmental justice, and affordable health care. EMILYs List is proud to endorse her in this special election and support her work to improve the lives of all Bow and Dunbarton communities.”
The daughter of Canadian immigrants, Muriel Hall grew up on a farm in New Hampshire as one of 14 children. She attended Groveton public schools before studying to be a teacher. Until her retirement in 2019, Muriel spent 40 years teaching students and educators in the Granite State. During her 32 years at Bow Memorial School, she taught special education, mathematics, and then computer literacy. At the state level, Muriel served on the National Education Association’s New Hampshire Board of Directors and currently is a member of the NEA-NH’s Government Relations Committee. Locally, Muriel served as president and as negotiations chair of the Bow Education Association for more than a decade.
