EMILYs List Endorses Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger for Reelection in Virginia’s 7th Congressional District

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, endorsed Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger for reelection in Virginia’s 7th Congressional District. Stephanie Schriock, president of EMILYs List, released the following statement:

Her background in national security has brought critical expertise to Congress and helped her fight to protect the American people. Congresswoman Spanberger has continued to champion the needs of her constituents throughout the pandemic, including by passing bipartisan legislation to provide Americans with new broadband networks. We are proud to continue to support Congresswoman Spanberger as she continues to lift up all Virginians.”

Abigail Spanberger grew up in Henrico County, Virginia, and is a proud graduate of the University of Virginia. After earning her MBA, Abigail began her public service career as a federal law enforcement officer with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, then joined the CIA as a case officer. Focused on counterterrorism, she recruited and developed spies and provided the critical intelligence that policymakers needed to make national security decisions to keep our country safe. Abigail and her husband live with their three daughters in Glen Allen.
