EMILYs List Statement on the Attack on the Capitol

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Stephanie Schriock, president of EMILYs List, released the following statement:
 
“Yesterday's attack on the Capitol was an attack on all Americans. From Trump and his Republican allies in office who stoked this effort to the rioters who executed it, this attack to undermine the will of the voters is un-American, undemocratic and unacceptable. Everyone involved, especially Donald Trump, must be held accountable. 
 
“As we watched in horror as an angry mob breached the Capitol, we couldn't ignore the obvious disparity in treatment by law enforcement. We as a nation must address the shameful discrepancies in the way peaceful Black and Brown protestors are treated, compared to the way violent white rioters were handled during an organized siege on the Capitol yesterday. We must address the bias and racism in our justice system and ensure that those who have sworn to protect and serve are treating all of us with the fairness we deserve.
