EMILYs List Endorses Chris Bubser in California’s 8th Congressional District

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, endorsed Chris Bubser in California’s 8th Congressional District. Stephanie Schriock, president of EMILYs List, released the following statement:

Chris is a health care professional who spent decades helping launch groundbreaking treatments for patients with HIV and cancer. A mother whose own daughter has a preexisting condition, Chris understands the anxiety families face around securing quality, affordable health care. EMILYs List is confident this innovative thinker will bring pragmatic and solutions-oriented leadership to Washington, and we look forward to helping her turn this seat blue in the fall.”

Chris Bubser is a mom, an engineer, a health care professional, and a conservationist running to fight for the working families of California's 8th Congressional District. Born in Pennsylvania coal country as the youngest of three, Chris was raised in a working-class family. Chris got her first job at 14 years old, and she waited tables while she earned a degree in industrial engineering from Lehigh University. Chris moved to California and earned an MBA at UCLA, and she went on to work for a start-up medical device company and then worked in the biotechnology field. For two decades, Chris helped launch groundbreaking treatments that extended the lives of patients with HIV and cancer. Chris has lived in California for nearly 30 years and in Mammoth Lakes for more than 13, and she has been married to her husband David for 20 years. 

EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, has raised over $600 million to elect pro-choice Democratic women candidates.
