EMILY's List Condemns Ohio GOP's Dangerous Abortion Ban

WASHINGTON, D.C. — This week the Ohio state Legislature approved a dangerous abortion ban that would outlaw abortion as early as six weeks — before most women even know that they are pregnant. It now sits on the desk of Governor Mike DeWine, who has promised that he will sign it. In response, Christina Reynolds, vice president of communications at EMILYs List, released the following statement:

“From Georgia to Ohio and across the country, Republican lawmakers continue to play politics with women's lives by passing draconian laws that will harm families. These laws do not pass constitutional muster and are a cynical attempt by the far right to tee up a court challenge and ultimately overturn Roe v. Wade, which the vast majority of Americans support. EMILY's List remains committed to electing pro-choice Democratic women to legislatures all across the country in order to stop the Republican Party’s anti-woman agenda and support policies that allow women to make their own health care decisions.”
