EMILYs List Endorses 14 More Women Leaders for the Colorado General Assembly

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, endorsed 14 more women leaders for the Colorado General Assembly. Stephanie Schriock, president of EMILY's List, released the following statement:

“EMILYs List is proud to endorse these 14 women leaders who have the backbones and experience to fight for Colorado's women and working families. Throughout their careers they’ve used their voices to advocate for affordable health care, better access to quality education for every child, and stronger protections for women and families. Now voters have a chance to both flip the state Senate and ensure Colorado has the first majority-women– and truly representative – state legislature in the country. EMILYs List is honored to stand behind these incredible pro-choice Democratic women.”

EMILYs List endorsed the following slate of candidates:

Representative Janet Buckner (HD-40)
Yadira Caraveo (HD-31)
Rebecca Cranston (SD-15)
Lisa Cutter (HD-25)
Representative Jessie Danielson (SD-20)
Senator Kerry Donovan (SD-05)
Representative Daneya Esgar (HD-46)
Representative Dafna Michaelson Jenet (HD-30)
Representative Tracy Kraft-Tharp (HD-29)
Representative Barbara McLachlan (HD-59)
Representative Brittany Pettersen (SD-22)
Tammy Story (SD-16)
Kerry Tipper (HD-28)
Representative Faith Winter (SD-24)

These endorsements are in addition to four candidates previously endorsed by EMILYs List for the Colorado state Legislature and secretary of state – Jena Griswold (secretary of state), Julie Gonzales (SD-34), Monica Duran (HD-24) and Rochelle Galindo (HD-50) – all of whom advanced through their primaries on June 26, 2018.

EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, has raised over $500 million to support pro-choice Democratic women candidates – making them one of the most successful political organizations ever. Our grassroots community of over five million members helps Democratic women wage competitive campaigns – and win. We recruit and train candidates, support strong campaigns, research the issues that impact women and families, and turn out women voters. Since our founding in 1985, we have helped elect 116 women to the House, 23 to the Senate, 12 governors, and over 800 to state and local office. Forty percent of the candidates EMILYs List has helped elect to Congress have been women of color. Since the 2016 election, thousands of women and counting have reached out to us about running for office. To harness this energy, EMILYs List has launched Run to Win, an unprecedented effort to get more women to run at the local, state, and national levels.
