EMILY’s List Congratulates Jacky Rosen on Her Victory for U.S. Senate

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILY’s List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, congratulated EMILY’s List candidate Jacky Rosen on being elected to represent Nevada in the U.S. Senate. Stephanie Schriock, president of EMILY’s List, released the following statement:

“With Jacky Rosen’s incredible victory tonight, Nevada will now have two impressive Democratic women senators fighting for them in Washington, D.C. and be one of only five states with two women senators. Jacky is a proven ally for women and working families across the state, and in the Senate she will fight to protect access to affordable health care and hold the Trump administration accountable. EMILY’s List is excited to congratulate Jacky on her well-deserved victory in flipping this seat.”

WOMEN VOTE!, EMILY's List's independent expenditure arm, invested nearly $2 million on TV and mail to remind Nevada voters that Dean Heller broke his promise to them on health care.

EMILY’s List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, has raised over $500 million to support pro-choice Democratic women candidates – making them one of the most successful political organizations ever. Our grassroots community of over five million members helps Democratic women wage competitive campaigns – and win. We recruit and train candidates, support strong campaigns, research the issues that impact women and families, and turn out women voters. Since our founding in 1985, we have helped elect 116 women to the House, 23 to the Senate, 12 governors, and over 800 to state and local office. Forty percent of the candidates EMILY’s List has helped elect to Congress have been women of color. Since the 2016 election, thousands of women and counting have reached out to us about running for office. To harness this energy, EMILY’s List has launched Run to Win, an unprecedented effort to get more women to run at the local, state, and national levels.
