Raised in Hermantown, MN, by a mother who worked as a nurse and a father who worked in construction and at the paper mill, Trina Swanson grew up in a household where hard work, service, and looking out for your neighbors were simply a way of life. Northern Minnesota taught Trina that unions strengthen the middle class, communities thrive when people show up for one another, and a hard day’s work should provide a life of dignity — not constant financial insecurity. Trina carried those values with her through 25 years of service around the world.

Trina understands that Minnesotans who are doing everything right are still having to stretch their budgets every month while the costs of food, fuel, healthcare, and other necessities keep rising. In Congress, Trina will take on corporations driving up costs, hold corporate profiteers accountable, strengthen unions and livable wages, and invest in clean energy, manufacturing, and other industries that create good-paying jobs close to home. She’ll fight to protect family farms, strengthen local healthcare, and give families and businesses the stability they need to plan for the future. Trina will bring steady, practical leadership to Washington and work to build an economy where families can afford to live, work, and thrive in the communities they love.
