Stefany Shaheen’s life changed when her eldest daughter, Elle, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at eight years old and nearly lost her life. The relentless demands of managing the disease inspired Stefany to dedicate herself to helping Elle and millions of others living with chronic and life-threatening conditions. For more than 15 years, Stefany has fought to advance groundbreaking medical research, improve treatments, and accelerate the development of cures. She has helped raise millions of dollars for medical research and authored the New York Times bestseller “Elle & Coach,” which chronicles her family’s experience with Type 1 diabetes.

Stefany is running for Congress because Donald Trump and congressional Republicans are undermining medical research and cutting Medicaid and healthcare for children, seniors, and veterans while delivering tax breaks to billionaires and corporations. She believes it is not enough to be outraged, and New Hampshire needs leaders prepared to fight back. Stefany brings experience in business, public service, and advocacy to this race.
