Nancy Lacore
A Lifetime of Service and Leadership
Rear Admiral Nancy Lacore is a lifelong public servant, national security leader, and Navy veteran who has spent more than three decades serving her country with honor and distinction. Nancy’s service took her across the globe — from flying missions with helicopter squadrons on both coasts, to leading maritime partnerships in Europe and Africa, to serving in Afghanistan as chief of key leader engagement in Kabul. She commanded at every level, including as commanding officer of Camp Lemonnier in Djibouti and vice commander of the U.S. Sixth Fleet. Her career culminated in her appointment as the 16th Chief of Navy Reserve, where she led nearly 60,000 service members supporting Navy, Marine Corps, and joint force operations worldwide.
Throughout her career, Nancy accumulated more than 1,300 flight hours, earned numerous military decorations, and led teams recognized for excellence in service. But for Nancy, leadership has never been about rank but about responsibility, accountability, and taking care of the people who serve and sacrifice.
Putting Country Over Politics
Now, Nancy is stepping forward to serve again — this time at home. She’s running for Congress because she sees Washington consumed by dysfunction while families struggle with rising costs, threats to national security, and leaders more focused on politics than results. Nancy plans to call on the same values that guided her military service: integrity, teamwork, and mission-first leadership. Her decades of experience managing large, diverse teams and complex operations uniquely position her to cut through chaos, restore trust, and deliver solutions that put people and country first.
The Leader SC-01 Needs Now
Nancy Lacore is running for an open seat in South Carolina’s 1st Congressional District currently held by Trump-endorsed and self-named “Trump in high heels,” Nancy Mace. Nancy Lacore is uniquely positioned to make this district competitive. The district is among the most college-educated congressional districts currently represented by a Republican, a demographic that has steadily shifted away from MAGA-style politics in recent election cycles, and has a veteran population nearly twice the national average. The Lowcountry’s large retiree population, many of whom are feeling the squeeze of higher prices on essentials like health care, housing, and groceries are increasingly frustrated with Republican policies that raise costs without delivering tangible benefits. At a moment when many voters are looking for calm, capable leadership rather than ideological drama, Nancy’s results-driven background offers a compelling and winning alternative. EMILYs List is proud to stand with Nancy as she answers the call to serve South Carolina’s 1st Congressional District.
