Joyce Craig
Investing in New Hampshire’s Youth
Joyce Craig is a lifelong Granite Stater who began her public service career in 2008. As a mother of three young children and a graduate of Manchester public schools, she was inspired to run for office because she wanted to change the direction of Manchester’s public schools. Subsequently, Craig won a seat on the Board of School Committee and served as an Alderwoman for six years. In 2017, Craig ran for mayor of Manchester and defeated a four-term incumbent Republican. She was the first woman elected mayor of Manchester and the first Democrat elected since 2005. Craig and her husband, Michael, live in Manchester and have three children.
Building Stronger Communities
As mayor of Manchester, Craig has brought in hundreds of millions of dollars in economic development, reduced violent crime by nearly 40%, invested in public schools, and supported the creation of over 2,000 homes and apartments. She has also fought to support public schools, increase affordable housing, build safer communities, and protect abortion access. She is running to ensure New Hampshire families have the opportunity to live and build a sustainable life. She is committed to fighting on behalf of Granite Staters and has the experience to make real change happen.
Protect Pro-ChoiceThis is the only gubernatorial race this cycle that The Cook Political Report has categorized as a toss-up and in a state where Republicans tried to propose a near total abortion ban, this seat is critical to protecting reproductive freedom in the state. Craig is running against anti-abortion and MAGA extremist Kelly Ayotte — a staunch supporter of national abortion bans and a threat to reproductive freedoms. Craig is the right candidate to defeat Ayotte and her extremist agenda. She will protect our reproductive freedoms and ensure the success of New Hampshirites.
