Jessica Killin
A Leader Rooted in Service and Colorado Values
Jessica Killin is a proud fourth-generation Coloradan. Raised in Colorado Springs by two public school educators, Jessica learned the values of hard work, fairness, and public service. She watched her parents build a stable middle-class life on two educator salaries — something increasingly out of reach for today’s families. Growing up surrounded by military families and veterans in El Paso County, Jessica was taught from a young age the importance of patriotism, duty, and honor. After graduating from Falcon High School, Jessica earned an ROTC scholarship and went on to serve as a U.S. Army captain and paratrooper. She led soldiers as a military police officer during peacekeeping missions in the Balkans and NATO expansion throughout Europe. Her military service shaped her belief that leadership means accountability, integrity, and putting people first.
A Strong Voice for Coloradans and Veterans
After her military service, Jessica earned her law degree and dedicated her career to improving the lives of everyday Americans, military families, and veterans. For more than a decade, she served as an executive at USAA during the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis — streamlining VA home loans, protecting veterans’ financial stability, and fighting predatory payday lenders targeting service members. While raising her daughter, Jessica also balanced full-time work, like so many families. She continued her public service in leadership roles on Capitol Hill and at the White House, where she worked to ensure safety, security, and economic opportunity for families nationwide. Jessica has spent her entire career bringing people together — using her experience in the military, private sector, and federal government to solve problems, strengthen communities, and deliver meaningful results. Now she’s running for Congress to lower costs, expand affordable health care and housing, protect veterans, and restore fiscal responsibility to Congress.
Strong Flip Opportunity in CO-05
Jessica Killin is running for Colorado’s 5th Congressional District, a seat currently held by Republican Rep. Jeff Crank. Jessica has seen firsthand the dysfunction in Washington and is focused on restoring trust, lowering costs, and improving everyday life for Colorado families. Jessica is ready to serve her community again — this time in Congress — and EMILYs List is proud to stand with her in this flip opportunity.
