A Fighter for Truth in Pennsylvania

Janelle Stelson is an Emmy Award-winning broadcast journalist with a nearly 40-year track record of listening to Pennsylvanians and fighting to deliver them the truth. Prior to running for Congress, Stelson spent 26 years as an anchor of the highest-rated news show in the Harrisburg media market, which encompasses all of Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional District. Her work as a journalist has taken her all over central Pennsylvania, covering the issues that matter most to people and giving her up close and personal knowledge of the challenges — and opportunities — they face. Senior News has repeatedly named Stelson “Best News Anchor” in honor of her outstanding work. After working at WHTM-TV in Harrisburg, Stelson joined Susquehanna Valley’s WGAL in 1997 and has been involved in the betterment of central Pennsylvanians ever since.

Abortion Access at the Forefront

Stelson is a staunch defender of reproductive freedom and is committed to standing up against any and every attack on our rights. When Roe v. Wade was overturned in 2022, Stelson said, “It broke my heart that women in Pennsylvania were no longer going to be safe from a national abortion ban… that, to me, has always been something between you and your doctor.” Stelson is committed to making life better for Pennsylvanians — and all Americans — by fighting for affordable health care, good-paying jobs, reliable infrastructure, and the democracy that makes it all possible.

Unseating a Radical Anti-Choice Extremist

Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional District is a competitive seat currently represented by Rep. Scott Perry, an anti-abortion election-denying conspiracy theorist who actively participated in efforts to overthrow the results of the 2020 election and has spent his time in office voting against reproductive freedom at every turn. But the seat is flippable — and Stelson is the candidate who can flip it and help Democrats retake the U.S. House and stop any Republican attempt at a national abortion ban. With the EMILYs List community by her side, we can help Stelson cross the finish line in November.
