Haley Stevens
Rooted in Michigan Values
Growing up, Haley’s parents owned a landscaping business in Macomb County where they planted, landscaped, and plowed snow in the winter. From a young age, her experience around heavy machinery, her parents’ small business, and her community taught her the value of hard work – a value every Michigander shares.
Champion for Michiganders
As Chief of Staff on President Obama’s auto rescue and the only Michigander on the team, Haley brought workers, auto companies, and union leadership to the same table to stabilize the auto industry and help save 200,000 Michigan jobs. Just as she stepped up during the auto rescue, Haley stepped up to represent Michigan in the House of Representatives in 2018 and won – flipping an open seat that was previously held by the Republican party. Since then, Haley’s fought for Michigan’s manufacturing and auto-industries in the halls of Congress. One of the proudest days of her life was when the CHIPs and Science Act – a bill she helped write – was signed into law to bring America’s semiconductor industry back to where it belongs: Michigan. And as Donald Trump abuses his power and raises costs on Michigan families with his reckless tariffs, Haley is protecting Michiganders–working to block Trump’s tariffs on groceries, and stop his corrupt insider trading.
Strongest Candidate to Hold Michigan’s Critical US Senate Seat
Haley is tested, trusted, and proven in the hardest arena in politics: winning tough, competitive elections and delivering under pressure. In 2018, she flipped a Republican-held congressional seat, winning in a politically divided district where Democrats were not expected to prevail. She earned that victory by building a broad coalition. This will be a hard-fought, closely watched contest—and Haley is the only candidate who has already proven she can win tough races, in tough districts, against tough odds, while staying grounded in Michigan’s priorities.
