Carmela Conroy was raised with a deep appreciation for hard work, personal responsibility, and service to others. After working her way through school, Carmela returned home to serve as a Spokane County deputy prosecutor. In that role, she protected families, stood up for victims, and saw firsthand how crime and instability affect people’s everyday lives. Carmela later joined the U.S. Foreign Service, representing the United States in Afghanistan, Japan, New Zealand, Norway, Pakistan, and Washington, D.C. She led teams in high-pressure environments, managed complex international crises, and earned national recognition for her service, including one of the CIA’s highest civilian awards. Whether serving eastern Washington or representing the country abroad, Carmela has demonstrated the steady judgment and courage necessary to lead in challenging moments.

As housing, healthcare, child care, groceries, and other everyday costs continue to rise, the people of eastern Washington are working harder just to keep up. With deep roots in the community and a background as a county prosecutor and U.S. diplomat, Carmela brings the experience, credibility, and record of service needed to reach voters in a district where candidate strength matters.
