U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar is the first woman elected to represent Minnesota in the U.S. Senate and a lifelong champion for the people of her state. She was shaped by the Minnesota values she grew up with — hard work, fairness, and public service. Her grandfather worked 1,500 feet underground in the iron ore mines of Northern Minnesota, her father was a newspaperman, and her mother was an elementary school teacher who taught until she was 70. For Amy, public service has always been about standing up for regular people and making government work better for them.

Delivering Results and Putting Minnesotans First

In the Senate, Amy has built a national reputation as one of Congress’ most effective and bipartisan lawmakers. In the 117th Congress, she ranked first in the Senate for introducing bipartisan legislation and among the top lawmakers for passing bills into law. Throughout her career, she has fought tirelessly for Minnesotans — saving taxpayers billions of dollars in prescription drug costs, securing federal funding for job-creating infrastructure projects, supporting Minnesota’s farmers and small businesses hit by the Trump administration’s tariffs, and leading the charge to tackle affordability on health care and child care and housing. Even in the past year, during a deeply divided Congress, she passed multiple bills into law, including measures to protect women and kids online. She has always led with integrity, steadiness, and results gaining her deep trust from Minnesotans who know she puts them first. Now she’s ready to continue delivering for Minnesota families as governor.
