Angie Nixon
Grassroots Leader Fighting for Florida
Angie Nixon is a Democratic state representative, union organizer, mother, and lifelong Jacksonville resident. She grew up watching her mother work two jobs to keep food on the table. As an elementary school student, Angie was bused across town because her predominantly Black neighborhood school lacked adequate resources. She also lost a beloved cousin to gun violence. Those experiences shaped her commitment to making sure every family has access to safe communities and a fair chance to thrive. As executive director of Florida for All, she helped a statewide coalition register tens of thousands of new voters and support organizing across Florida.
Delivering for All Working Floridians
In the state House, Angie has fought to expand child care for thousands of families and worked to challenge grocery price gouging. When Gov. Ron DeSantis and Florida Republicans pushed unfair voting maps through the Florida state legislature, Angie led opposition to disenfranchisement of voters across the state. Angie knows what rising costs and underfunded schools mean for families because she has lived those challenges. She is fighting for lower costs, higher wages, and better opportunities for children and for a government that answers to working people instead of wealthy special interests. As a legislator and organizer, Angie brings a record of turning that commitment into action.
Flipping Florida’s U.S. Senate Seat
Angie Nixon is running for Florida’s U.S. Senate seat currently held by DeSantis appointed-U.S. Sen. Ashley Moody, who pushes Trump’s billionaire agenda and puts special interests over Florida’s working families. Angie has built a grassroots coalition to deliver for all Floridians. She’s ready to fight for Floridians and flip Florida’s U.S. Senate seat and EMILYs List is proud to stand with her.
