Denise Powell
Fighting for Nebraska’s Good Life
Denise Powell knows that a strong work ethic and deep love of family and community are at the heart of the Nebraska way of life. But she also knows that the good life Nebraskans have worked hard to build is getting harder to come by. After a successful career in corporate America, Denise chose to step away from the boardroom and dedicate herself to fighting for what makes Nebraska such a special place to live and raise a family.
Following Donald Trump’s election in 2016, Denise founded an organization that has empowered hundreds of women in Nebraska to run for local office. She is a mom of two, health care advocate, small business owner, and leader who has stood up for public schools and against dangerous abortion bans in the state. Her leadership has strengthened communities across Nebraska and inspired countless others to take action for their neighbors and their future.
Putting Nebraska Families First
As Nebraskans struggle to make ends meet, Donald Trump and MAGA extremists are focused on trade wars that drive up costs and give tax breaks to billionaires — not hardworking families. Denise is running for Congress because for too long, Republicans in Washington have been more focused on lip service than actual results. Her business and community experience make her uniquely qualified to deliver results on the issues that matter most to Nebraskans.
In Congress, she’ll work to lower costs, expand access to affordable health care and fight back against Medicaid cuts, invest in public schools, and defend reproductive freedoms.
Flip This Open Seat, Take Back the House
Now an open seat, Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District is one of the most competitive seats in the nation and one of Democrats’ best pickup opportunities to take back the U.S. House. Denise Powell has spent her career delivering results for Nebraska families, standing up to extremists, and empowering others to lead. Now she’s ready to take that fight to Washington for Nebraskans, and EMILYs List is proud to stand with her.
