What is POP?
Who’s POP?
POP staff are experienced political strategists, former campaign workers, and even former candidates.
What do we do?
Our dedicated POP team hits the road every week to recruit, train, and support women candidates – knowing that a key reason women hesitate to run for office is because they simply haven't been asked. POP identifies tomorrow’s political leaders – and we ask!
What’s the big picture?
POP’s goal is a steady and sustainable increase of women in the political pipeline, where they gain the leadership and legislative skills necessary to be effective in their current offices and – if they wish – prepare for statewide or federal campaigns.
Why is POP important today?
Yes, we’re building a farm team, but by helping women win key races up and down the ballot – the legislators who write laws, the attorneys general who defend and enforce them, the secretaries of state who oversee their states’ elections – POP also helps put women in charge of the decisions that affect each of us, every day.
What’s next?
Over the next decade, POP will continue to train hundreds of women across the country – helping devise winning strategies, write and execute fundraising plans, develop effective communications strategies, forge key alliances, and build grassroots networks for future campaigns.
