WASHINGTON D.C. - EMILY’s List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, released the following video to be screened tonight at the “We Are EMILY” Awards event tonight in downtown Washington. The event marks Giffords’ first return to Washington, DC since her resignation in January.

The video is narrated by Giffords’ close friend and former colleague, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand.

Last week, Susan G. Komen for the Cure made the now infamous decision to cut its funding for Planned Parenthood. We, along with activists across the country, were outraged, and demanded that Komen restore funding for the critical breast cancer screening services that Planned Parenthood provides for women.
