The GOP sure is trigger happy lately.

We told you earlier about the NRCC's Young Guns program, which helps recruit and train GOPers in targeted open-seat and challenger races. And now we have news that the Young Guns are taking aim and increasing their numbers, adding 32 new GOP candidates to the program -- and using more gun analogies and references than ever!

Usually, it's a good thing when I say someone is "on the List." But there's always an exception.

Just came across a nice story about Carol Shea-Porter (NH-01), announcing new funding for the Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws (EUDL) Program. EUDL will receive $356,400 to support its mission of curbing the selling of alcohol to minors.

She may be just off the plane from her trip to Afghanistan, but for Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (NH-01), working for the rights and well-being of veterans never stops.

Only days ago we told you that the NRCC was picking their top races for 2010, and yesterday's POLITICO report sheds more light on exactly whom Republicans will target.

Last night was a real barnburner for you boxing fans out there. In the left corner we had tough-as-nails Carol Shea-Porter from New Hampshire’s first district, defending her four-year title of U.S. Congresswoman. A strong competitor and tough advocate for women and families, Carol’s impressive record includes the title of first woman ever elected to Congress from New Hampshire.

And in the right corner was GOP Young Gun Frank Guinta, hoping to unseat Shea- Porter.

The GOP isn't wasting any time plotting for 2010 -- and top on their list of priorities is taking down freshman members of Congress in moderate or conservative-leaning districts, including women we've helped elect.

Looks like the Tea Party’s over for New Hampshire Rep. Frank Guinta. Thanks to his tireless (or tired, depending on your viewpoint) support of the extremist GOP House leadership and Paul Ryan’s slash-and-burn budgets, Guinta’s approval rating sits at just 25%, and his town hall meetings are peppered with frustrated constituents.

A lot of media attention has been given to the outrageous — and dangerous — run-ins with protestors at health care town halls. I can’t think of one of our incumbent women considered vulnerable by the GOP who has escaped their summer antics.
