Yesterday, the 113th Congress was sworn into office, including 16 new EMILY’s List women to the House and 9 EMILY’s List women to the Senate. With a record number of women entering both chambers and the incoming freshman class being the most diverse in history, there was a lot to celebrate. So we did!

It was a historic election night for EMILY's List candidates. EMILY's List helped defeat Republicans and elect more pro-choice Democratic women than in any year since 1992. EMILY's List candidates ousted two Republican senators in nasty, expensive races and won the two most competitive governors races in the country. We added at least 11 new Democratic women to the U.S. House, and possibly as many as 13.

WOMEN VOTE! To Launch Final Push in New Hampshire

In both of New Hampshire's congressional districts, right-wing fat cats continue pouring millions of dollars into smear campaigns against Carol Shea-Porter and Ann McLane Kuster. The spending is staggering. Last week alone, spending against Kuster topped $470,000. Yesterday, the Republican Party announced its pouring in $364,000 more against Shea-Porter.
