On September 11, 2001, the country watched in horror as two planes were flown into the towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, a third into the Pentagon just outside Washington, DC, and a fourth driven into the ground in Shanksville, PA.

It’s not a day any of us will soon forget, and it irrevocably defined our policies, culture and history for the last eleven years – and undoubtedly into the future.

It’s non-stop here at EMILY’s List where the next stop on the Road To History lands us in Charlotte, North Carolina next week for the Democratic National Convention.

July 18, 2012

WASHINGTON – Today, EMILY’s List President Stephanie Schriock released a statement reacting to comments made by GOP Senate candidate Wendy Long. The Buffalo News reports that Long claimed efforts made by her party to limit access to birth control were “a complete fabrication” and dismissed Republican attacks on women’s health and finances as “this whole phony war on women.” Schriock responded:

Last month, we introduced our first findings of our 2012 WOMEN VOTE! Research, where we learned that women do not believe Washington is working for families like theirs. And now, we‘re back with more research that we think you’ll find fascinating.

Sports were a huge part of my life growing up in Montana. I was a Butte High Bulldog and I was proud to wear Butte High purple. I also know I was lucky to wear Butte High purple, because I was born after Title IX was written.
