Cong. Michele Bachmann sure has been busy. The Tea Party favorite has a packed schedule -- appearing on cable news, touting her latest speaking gig, and giving us plenty of gems to highlight on the blog. She's also been spending plenty of time politicking outside of her district -- making appearances and attending town halls.

One thing she hasn't been up to lately? Legislating for the people of Minnesota.

We're almost at the one-year mark for 2010 elections, and you can feel races starting to heat up. Around here, that means keeping a close eye on some of the most highly anticipated races in the country. A number of impressive women candidates have the press and the pundits talking, and we want to make sure you know about the latest House buzz:

This week, Sarah Palin headed for Minnesota to rally Republican support for Cong. Michele Bachmann (MN-06) who is running against EMILY’s List candidate Tarryl Clark. With Palin at her side, Bachmann took swipes at Democrats, promising the crowd she'd fight to repeal health care if elected to a third term in Congress.

Bachmann and Palin also held a private reception for donors – and for the price of $10,000, donors were given an exclusive photo opportunity with the dazzling duo.

Tarryl Clark is hitting the road.

Running for Congress in Minnesota's sixth congressional district, Tarryl is gearing up to take on right-wing extremist Cong. Michele Bachmann this fall. Tarryl is kicking off her campaign with a district-wide tour, planning to meet with voters and get out her message along the way.

Here are a couple of photos from her "Working for You" tour:

The countdown until November 2 is constantly on my mind, but we have another important date quickly approaching: at midnight tonight, October 6, we will close the EMILY's List Community Choice contest. That means you have less than 24 hours to vote for your favorite EMILY's List candidate. The winning candidates will receive a special email appeal from EMILY's List on their behalf to help them fundraise in the critical final weeks.

Bachmann meets… reality?

It seems that Michele Bachmann has finally grasped reality on one crucial point:

“Pelosi and the Democrats have targeted me specifically to silence my voice in repealing Obamacare and rolling back the spending and tax increases about to come our way. I can’t wait to defeat their bad agenda.” - Michele Bachmann, 07/15/10

The last few days at Netroots Nation 2010 in Las Vegas have been incredible. This conference teems with passion, energy, and ideas -- and we want to give you a slice of what we've experienced.

Conversation is constant here. We got to speak with attendees while at our EMILY's List booth at the exhibition all, meeting long-time supporters and sharing our mission with folks new to what we do -- and handed out some pretty cute notepads. At panel discussions and roundtable talks, we heard hopes, frustrations, and desire for more progressive action.

This past weekend EMILY's List's candidates and elected officials joined with their friends, family, and constituents to celebrate the nation's birthday. We've collected pictures of our amazing women like Janice Hahn, whose campaign is zeroing in on election day next week, Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar, On the List candidate Ann McLane Kuster of New Hampshire, and others as they hit the pavement, worked the crowds, and honored the holiday.

We hope you enjoy this slideshow:

I'm loving watching Tarryl Clark as she stands strong with this clever and effective response to Michele Bachmann's mud-slinging.
