We already shared the highlights from our week in Charlotte at the Democratic National Convention, including our Town Hall. But another highlight for us was how many of our women spoke at the Convention. It was truly remarkable to watch the women we’ve spent all year championing take the stage and inspire a whole new audience. We also loved the speeches from some of our candidates in past cycles. In the midst of anti-choice attacks in Congress, it's nice to know that the Democratic women in the Senate have our backs. Tonight, the Senate will vote on Senator Barbara Mikulski's amendment that guarantees women have access to preventive health care screenings at no cost.

At the opening of this year, our community celebrated as a dear friend, Sen. Barbara Mikulski, became the longest serving woman in Senate history. Informally known as "Dean" of the Senate women, Sen. Mikulski holds a special place in our hearts – the first ever EMILY’s List candidate.
