Remember the bad old times of now convicted felon and former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay? If you’ve tried to scrub “The Hammer” and his special brand of corrupt cronyism from your memory, then sorry to break it to you: they’re back! “They,” specifically, are the former staffers and associates of DeLay, who’ll be roaming the halls of Congress again.

Would it be better for the nation’s collective mental health to just not think about Rick Santorum? Um, yes.

But this is a guy who is a serious competitor for the Republican Presidential nomination. He’s carried four states through the primary season so far and he’s polling right with Mitt Romney nationwide. Serious competitor; seriously scary.

Elizabeth Warren: consumer champion, spearhead-er of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Massachusetts Senate candidate. She's enough to make a typically cynical EMILY's List blogger just plain giddy.

We've seen it with our members all over the country, people everywhere are thrilled to have the chance to send Elizabeth to the Senate -- and send Scott Brown packing, right along with his Tea Party and Wall Street buddies.

Our hearty congratulations to Roy Blunt and Dino Rossi on their latest accomplishment: making the nonpartisan Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington’s list of most unethical and corrupt candidates! It really takes a whole lot of scandal, dishonesty, and shadiness to make the list of just under a dozen out of 2,300 candidates – we hope Blunt and Rossi are truly proud of making it to the top.

The Republicans are coming out swinging. They're determined to gain power in Congress next year, so they're eyeing seats across the country to put in the GOP's column.

The one they seem to be coveting the most? President Barack Obama’s Senate seat. As a columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times wrote recently, “A win there would plant a flag high on the hill of a hoped-for Republican comeback.”

Now, we know what we're up against.

Last week, we put 5 Republican freshmen on notice – Cong. Bass, Cravaack, Gosar, Heck, and West each have shamefully anti-woman records, and there is female political talent who could take them on in districts where voters already have buyers’ regret.

This week, we present: On notice, round two! And who are the lucky contestants joining the first five? Well, let’s get to know these additional Republican freshmen who are headed for some serious political trouble.

Political fundamentalism will be at play this weekend when Ralph Reed and his “Faith and Freedom Coalition” descend on DC to discuss the big threats to our nation’s prosperity: access to Planned Parenthood health services, legalized abortion, and same-sex marriage.

No one likes a lot of extra hot air in the summertime - not from their weatherman, and certainly not from their senator.

According to a recent poll, only 32% of voters approve of North Carolina Senator Richard Burr’s job performance. That's an approval rating lower than all but two of his colleagues in the Senate. It's great news for our candidate, Elaine Marshall -- polls are tightening in her bid to unseat Burr.
