To mark this year’s celebration of Women's Equality Day (today!), members of President Obama’s administration are hosting a special conference call to provide updates on the work they’ve done for women and girls. Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius, a former EMILY’s List candidate, will join Tina Tchen, director of the White House Office of Public Engagement, to discuss their efforts and to answer questions about health care reform’s effects on women. And we want you to be in the know.

EMILY's List candidate Colleen Hanabusa is up with a new ad in her race to fill the seat of outgoing Cong. Neil Abercrombie. Colleen is in a tight winner-take-all special election that's just weeks away -- and polls show a tight race among all three candidates.

Television spots like this one -- featuring Colleen's mother -- are critical to helping get her message out to the district's voters:

GOP Rep. Michele Bachmann (MN-06) really is her own worst enemy.

MSNBC's Keith Olbermann found the opportunity to highlight some of Bachmann's best-known (and most loathsome) antics this week, following the announcement that Bachmann's 2008 challenger, Elwyn Tinklenberg, won't seek a rematch in 2010, in the hopes that Democrats will avoid a primary fight and focus their energies on defeating Bachmann in the general election.
