About Marcia Fudge
Progressive legacy
When Rep. Marcia Fudge won the 2008 special election following the death of EMILY's List candidate Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones, Fudge knew exactly what Jones' constituents -- and EMILY's List supporters -- needed in a successor: "[Tubbs Jones and I] have the same heart about people," she said. “We believe very strongly about service and helping people.”
Business experience
Representing Ohio's 11th congressional district -- the district with the lowest median income in the state -- Fudge is dedicated to economic reform that will change her constituents' lives. As the mayor of Warrensville Heights, a Cleveland suburb, Fudge helped the city taking on housing and business projects to serve the needs of the area's families. She brings that same commitment to working Americans to Washington.
Voice for change
In the House, Fudge has been a strong advocate for progressive reform, particularly for education and environmental issues. As a member of the Education and Labor Committee, Fudge has supported increased funding for schools and education research. On the Science and Technology Committee, she has argued for aggressive action to combat global warming.
