WASHINGTON - Today, EMILY’s List President Stephanie Schriock reacted to Republican Senate candidate Linda Lingle's attempts to distance herself from her record as a booster of her party’s consistently right wing agenda. Lingle is sitting out this convention - and expressed "disappointment" with the extreme anti-choice platform outlawing a woman's right to choose even in the case of rape and incest - but the past two conventions contained the same plank with her full participation.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today EMILY’s List WOMEN VOTE! announced it will begin communicating with voters on television on behalf of Democratic congressional candidate Kyrsten Sinema, who is running for Congress in Arizona’s 9th district. The ad begins running today on cable channels targeting women district-wide.

WASHINGTON – Republicans across the country are rushing to denounce their colleague, Missouri Rep. Todd Akin, for suggesting that some rapes are “legitimate” – implying that others aren’t. But House Republicans already voted for a bill that said exactly that. Over 200 House Republicans co-sponsored H.R. 3 at the beginning of 2011, which tried to redefine rape so some mattered more than others. But the Akin-similarity doesn’t end there.
