EMILY’s List Puts Three More Strong Women "On the List"

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILY’s List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, announced it is placing congressional candidates Kyrsten Sinema, Lori Saldaña, and Kathy Boockvar “On the List.”

The EMILY’s List community now stands at more than one million members strong. These supporters are getting their information earlier, quicker, and on the web and they’re ready to take action now. “On the List” is a new way for EMILY’s List members to engage with and support promising candidates early in an election cycle. By putting Sinema, Saldaña and Boockvar “On the List,” EMILY’s List is ensuring that they have access to this powerful network of supporters.

“EMILY’s List has surpassed one million members and we have incredible momentum going into this election cycle,” said EMILY’s List President, Stephanie Schriock. “Washington hasn’t been working for women and families, but we can change that by sending pro-choice Democratic women to Congress. The entire EMILY’s List community is ready to stand strong with Kyrsten, Lori, Kathy and Democratic women across the country in order to take back the House this November and change the way things are done in Washington.”

“Democratic women are leading the charge to take back the House in 2012,” said EMILY’s List President Stephanie Schriock. “With special election victories across the country already proving that 2012 is going to be an historic year for Democratic women, we are thrilled to support great candidates like Kyrsten Sinema, Lori Saldaña and Kathy Boockvar.”

In the 2009-2010 cycle, EMILY's List raised more than $38.5 million to support its mission of recruiting and supporting women candidates, helping them build strong campaigns, and mobilizing women voters to turn out and vote. With a community of more than 1,000,000 members across the country, EMILY's List is one of the largest political action committees in the nation. Since its founding in 1985, EMILY's List has worked to elect 87 pro-choice Democratic women to the U.S. House, 16 to the U.S. Senate, nine governors, and hundreds of women to the state legislatures, state constitutional offices, and other key local offices. In the 2009-2010 cycle, EMILY's List had the largest number of members and donors in our 27 year history.
