WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the Republican-led House Judiciary Committee passed a bill that would ban abortions after 20 weeks for women across the country, without exceptions for rape, incest, or health of the pregnant woman. The Judiciary Committee is comprised of 34 men and five women, and every woman who serves on the committee is a Democrat.

The seat was previously held by United States Congresswoman Gloria Negrete McLeod, who was elected to Congress with the help of EMILY’s List in 2012.
